AVP 2026 Huntington Beach Open: Final part 1

Our images from the 2026 AVP Huntington Beach Open – part 1: in what turned out to be a real exciting match, between Devon Newberry & Savvy Simo and Brazil’s Thâmela Coradello and Victoria Lopes. This was Championship Sunday, May 17th, 2026.

Both teams fought through the contenders bracket, and won big upsets to face each other on the big stage. The match was very close early in the first set. Brazil’s Coradello/Lopes would pull away late, to secure a win in set #1. They entered the weekend as the 3rd ranked pair in the world (according to FIVB). We actually got a chance to see them in Newport, last year for the Elite 16.
