Qualifier: part 3 – for the AVP Huntington Beach Open 2026
Our conclusion of the competition in Huntington Beach on 5/14/2026 – as athletes battled for a spot in the main draw!
Avery Poppinga/Nicci Yardley getting past Delaney Peranich/Tessa Van Winkle in 2 sets – as Hailey Harward/Xolani Hodel, continue to battle LMU’s Ines Piret/Chloe Hooker. Incredible plays being made all around in this opening qualifier round, this match going 3 sets. Harward/Hodel would win 2-1, and faced Poppinga/Yardley in the next round, most of which we were not in attendance for. Had another engagement that afternoon.
However, did catch some of Quinn Perry/Madison Shields, against up and coming Ruby Cochrane/Olga Nikolaeva, who won this match 2-0.
Moving into the second round of qualifiers –
Sarah Wood & Marine Kinna, faced off against Lindsey Sparks and her partner, Laura Stirvins. On the next court, Piper Ferch/Teegan Van Gunst met Paloma Bowman/Falyn Fonoimoana. We hopped over to capture Erica Brok/Kaeli Crews vs. Megan Gebhard/Katie Lindstrom, and also Torrey Van Winden/Anaya Evans against Jessica Foster/Michelle Schafer.
Had to get going, but Bowman/Fonoimoana, Brok/Crews, Evans/Van Winden, would all advance 2-0, getting to the 3rd and final round. Wood/Kinna would also reach the 3rd round, in a 2-1 victory, but SoCalBeachVB.com was not there to capture for you.
